Special Olympics Unified with Refugees in Spain - Seville 2023

Special Olympics Unified with Refugees in Spain - Seville 2023
We're proud to highlight the impact of our 'Unified with Refugees' initiative in Spain. Fundación Real Betis staged a football exhibition between Special Olympics Andalucía players and refugees from the Seville Refugee Reception Center as part of the ‘Unified with Refugees’ initiative at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol in Spain. In partnership with Lions Club International Foundation and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Special Olympics ‘Unified with Refugees’ platform was launched in 2016 as part of an urgent focus to address the plight of individuals with intellectual disabilities in refugee settings. This population is now facing the most difficult circumstances, not only fleeing violence, but integrating into new host communities. Their needs are urgent, acute and growing. Through the platform offered by 'Unified with Refugees', Special Olympics provides much-needed support for the integration of children and their families, and meeting their most urgent needs. #UnifiedWithRefugees #ChooseToInclude #InclusionRevolution #MoreThanFootball #MissionInclusion
