One Team. One Dream. Thailand’s Unified Football World Cup Journey

It has been a grueling few months for the Thai footballers named to the final roster for Special Olympics Thailand’s women’s football team, bound for the Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026 from 6 – 11 July.

They have trained relentlessly as they learned each other’s rhythm, communication patterns, and skill sets—seeing how they work individually, and even more importantly, how they work together as a team.

The title of Unified Football World Cup Champions will not come easily. It will be earned, fought over by 12 teams in the women’s tournament across six days in the Paris heat; ultimately to crown one team victorious.

Thailand respects the challenge they face ahead and have prepared accordingly. Through multiple intensive multi-week training camps, the players have lived and breathed football—a reality many only get to dream of.

Over these training camps, the Special Olympics Thailand women’s football team has formed bonds and friendships that will last a lifetime. But for now, their only goal is to be their very best when they step onto the pitch in Paris next week.
