Unified Volleyball Joy in Katowice

What a great end to a wonderful summer that was! With the extensive help of Special Olympics Poland, Special Olympics Europe Eurasia hosted the European Unified Volleyball Tournament in Katowice, Poland.

The event was hosted by no one other than the First Lady of Poland, Mrs. Agata Kornhauser-Duda and was organized during the CEV-Eurovolley Poland 2017. Over 100 athletes participated from 10 different countries in the region and the tournament was a great success with all teams showing their best on the field to win the matches, but even more to enjoy the whole tournament and the unified experience!

Like all other matches, the final games were also filled with passion, will to win and sportsmanship. In the end, Serbia and Russia won the tournament. Special Olympics Ambassador and former Serbian volleyball player Vladimir Grbic who attended the tournament reflected on his experience and said that the “Special Olympics athletes can teach us, professional players, how to enjoy sports!"
