Four Special Olympics Great Britain athletes recently made history by taking part in a demonstration race at the first ever Glasgow 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.

On the surface, cycling may seem like an individual sport, but it takes a team to get competitors across the finish line.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Special Olympics joined forces at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 with the goal of engaging more individuals with intellectual disability (ID) to take part in cycling.
