European Basketball Week

More than 25,000 players from over 35 countries will compete across 250 events between 25 November and 3 December.

The 22nd edition of Special Olympics European Basketball Week sees 25,000+ players with and without intellectual disabilities taking part in 250 events in 35+ countries, with the support of TME, UPS, FIBA Europe and FIBA Foundation. Games, tournaments, workshops and other activities will be offered across the region for boys, girls and mixed teams, with a focus on Special Olympics Unified Sports® and reaching new Special Olympics Unified Schools through a cross-collaboration with FIBA Hoops 4 Schools. 

In the middle of the Special Olympics European Basketball Week, basketball in the Netherlands has been relaunched with an event in the capital: the Special Olympics National Basketball Event is the starting point to give the sport the much-needed new boost.

Whether he is holding a basketball or a sports rule book, Joachim Joris is on a mission to make Unified basketball a better experience for all.

European Basketball Week 2024 will focus on schools and Unified Basketball among the younger generations

The most-anticipated Special Olympics European Basketball Week (EBW) is back for its 21st edition in 2024. Running 25 November – 3 December, this year’s campaign will revolve around our basketball activities in schools.

A vibrant celebration of women’s and Unified basketball took place as the European Unified Women’s Basketball Tournament unfolded at the Kristalna Dvorana sports centre in Zrenjanin, Serbia, between 5-9 June.

The North Macedonian player was the life and soul of his team at the 2023 Regional West Balkans Basketball 3x3 Tournament in Tirana, Albania - and he still has energy for much more.
