Medical Advisory Committee
The Special Olympics Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) is a global team of 13 medical professionals from seven regions. They specialize in fields like disability, public health, sports, and rehabilitation. Appointed by the CEO of Special Olympics International (SOI), members serve a four-year term. The MAC, convened by the Special Olympics Official General Rules, addresses health and safety matters for athletes and participants at the request of SOI's CEO or Board, operating or other Advisory Committee under an approved charter and procedures. The committee's role is advisory, providing recommendations without decision-making power.
