BWF-SOI Global Badminton Development Strategy 2026 – 2031

Special Olympics International and the Badminton World Federation are pleased to introduce a renewed, sport-specific strategic plan to guide the global development of badminton from 2026 – 2031. Building on the progress and learnings of the 2020 – 2024 framework, this joint strategy reflects a shared commitment to growing the sport in a more intentional and aligned way across regions and Programs worldwide. Through a focused approach to participation growth, competition pathways, and coaching capacity, the plan aims to strengthen how badminton is delivered and experienced, enhancing both access and quality opportunities for athletes at all levels.
