Since 1969 Svenska Handikappidrottsförbundet (Swedish Sports Organisation for the Disabled) have developed sport for people with learning disabilities. In 2009 Special Olympics Sweden established as a part of Svenska Handikappidrottsförbundet and since then we have been using the Special Olympics concepts.
