Inaugural Special Olympics European Week of Families Culminates in UN International Day of Families Celebrations
From 11 to 15 May, Special Olympics athletes across Europe Eurasia – and their families – have been celebrating the role that families play in our movement through the first-ever Special Olympics European Week of Families, supported by Lions Clubs International Foundation and the Samuel Family Foundation.

Anca Miron launched the children’s book ‘Anca’s Snowshoeing Adventure’ – which was inspired by the story of her journey to the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 – at a book signing event in Seneca Anticafe in Bucharest on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Anca’s book is one of four in a series focused on Special Olympics athletes.
