Special Olympics Florida athlete and Sportscaster Malcom Harris-Gowdie Returns to the Row for the Third Time and Joins Special Olympics Nebraska athlete Wyatt Spalding on Reporting Team

Washington, D.C. – 27 January 2025 – The international Board of Directors for Special Olympics elected new members Amb. Mathilde Mukantabana and Mr. Russell Wolff and returning members Mr. Angelo Moratti and Ms. Loretta Claiborne.

[WASHINGTON, D.C. — 24 JANUARY 2025] — Coinciding with the International Day of Education, Special Olympics today issued an urgent call to action, rallying governments, civil society, and international organizations around the globe to commit to robust financing that will transform education systems for learners of all abilities. In the organization’s second annual letter on the Global State of Inclusion in Education, Special Olympics Chairman Dr. Timothy Shriver highlighted both progress and persistent barriers in creating truly inclusive education systems.

The countdown is on to the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 (Winter Games) which will be staged in Turin, Italy.

The President will host a dinner honoring Special Olympics athletes as they prepare to compete at the upcoming Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin in March 2025.

Global Leaders and advocates for change gathered at Zayed University under the theme of “Inclusion for Tomorrow”
