Meet the Heroes: Aegir Ólafsson
Meet Aegir Ólafsson, a powerlifter from Special Olympics Iceland. Growing up in the countryside, he discovered powerlifting and turned it into a daily commitment, building purpose, confidence, and pride through training. His coach, Örvar Arnarson, describes him as “completely committed… he doesn’t stop until the time is finished.”
Aegir’s dedication led him to compete at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, an unforgettable experience that filled his family and supporters with pride. Back home, he continued to inspire others at the International Powerlifting Federation Championships in Keflavik.
