After his life as a professional basketball player, Kris started working as a teacher in an institution for boys with antisocial behavior while continually being involved with Special Olympics. Kris has been involved in the Special Olympics Movement in a variety of roles and responsibilities on a national and international level since 2007. He has been a Special Olympics Belgium Traditional and Unified Coach at several Regional and International World Games and Sports Director for Unified Basketball at the European Games in Antwerp in 2014. Kris currently serves as the National Unified Basketball Coordinator for Special Olympics Belgium.
Kris has other previous experience on various international committees and expert groups: SOEE Sports Advisor Basketball since 2015, SOEE UNEX-Member (2015 – 2020), 2019 SOWG Abu Dhabi Unified Sports Delegate—Basketball, and an ongoing member of the Global Unified Sports Advisory Group.
