“We all Deserve to be the Main Character in our Own Life”: The Powerful Impact of Inclusive Football in Viterbo, Italy
The five-a-side football team of the Zucchero Filato Association in Viterbo, Italy, is showing how sport can be a powerful tool for social inclusion. Back in 2023, Fabio Barzellotti, president of the Zucchero Filato Association, and Alessio Santoro, now the coach of the team, noticed two boys playing alone in a sports center, excluded by others because of their differences. This momentary observation was so powerful that it inspired them to create a football team to demonstrate that five-a-side football can be played by everyone, regardless of the level of abilities.

No Longer on the Sidelines: Jack Healey's Journey to Special Olympics Football
Jack Healey, a 20-year-old from Berkshire in England, always nurtured a deep love for football. Watching football matches on TV and playing FIFA helped him develop a true passion for the beautiful game from a young age. Even though he determinedly practised skills at home , he was unfortunately never able to access a mainstream football club as a junior due to his learning difficulties. However, a turning point came shortly after his 18th birthday.
