Special Olympics Athletes Wow the Crowds at the 2024 FIBA Open

Eleven Special Olympics teams were among over 1,000 basketball players at the recent FIBA Open in Mies, the largest 3x3 basketball tournament in Switzerland, on 15 and 16 June 2024.

PTR has always been about breaking barriers and globally growing the game of tennis. PTR was founded in 1976 when world-renowned coach Dennis Van der Meer saw that the sport was being held back by a lack of connection, a need for a universal teaching language, and a clear coaching progression.

Badminton PanAm

Special Olympics Latin America and Badminton Pan America first partnered in 2019. Their partnership focuses on growing the sport of badminton within the region for people with intellectual disabilities. The two organizations help to facilitate relationships between Special Olympics National Programs and National Badminton Member Associations to grow the sport, attract athletes and Unified partners, and train coaches. The two organizations will resign a partnership agreement at the 2024 Special Olympics Latin America Games in Paraguay, where badminton will be featured for the first time at the Regional Games.
