iCoachKids

iCoachKids is a project, under the umbrella of the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) that provides development opportunities and advanced learning for those coaching children and young people. Special Olympics will collaborate with iCoachKids to offer inclusive sport training to youth and provide iCoachkids with content and advice regarding adaptive sports for people with intellectual disabilities (ID). This partnership will benefit more than 8 million iCoachKids coaches throughout the European Union and over 500,000 Special Olympics coaches in 190 countries.

United Through Sports

United Through Sports (UTS), founded in 2017, is the international entity formed under the umbrella body, the Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS). UTS was formed as a united step towards creating more inclusive and equal sporting events for Non-Olympic sports as well as Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympics. Special Olympics and United Through Sports collaborate on several initiatives promoting inclusive sport to demonstrate the power of sport when everyone has equal opportunity to train, compete and show their talents.

International Floorball Federation

Special Olympics and the International Floorball Federation began their official partnership on 9 December 2011 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The main objective of the partnership is to promote and develop the growing sport of Floorball among Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners around the globe.

Inclusion

Special Olympics and over 5 Million of our athletes are leading the charge for full inclusion of people with Intellectual Disabilities (ID). The movement is rooted in the spirit of our founder, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who took a rebellious stand against the injustices faced by people with Intellectual Disabilities in 1968. Today, the fight for inclusion is more relevant than ever. People of all ages, races, genders, cultures, backgrounds, and abilities continue to face discrimination, ignorance, and disparagement. Just as Eunice Kennedy Shriver did 50 years ago, Special Olympics is setting a stake in the ground to create change and, this time, our athletes are leading the way.
