8 July 2026. Yesterday, at the Charléty Stadium Dojo, 30 children from France with and without intellectual disabilities, participated in Young Athletes, fun motor skills courses as part of the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026 non-competition events. The movement base activities included pedayoga, archery, motor skills courses, competitive games, rugby, and throwing games.

Young Athletes is an inclusive sport and play program for children ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities. The program serves children who are not yet old enough to participate in Special Olympics competition. Special Olympics competition begins at age 8, but belonging starts much earlier. Young Athletes helps families connect with the Special Olympics movement and a supportive community. The program reflects the belief that every child deserves the chance to play, learn, grow and belong.
