Karen Pence

Athletes and coaches are not the only ones headed to the 2019 World Games. Honored guests and dignitaries are traveling to Abu Dhabi and Dubai to enjoy the competitions and festivities. Among them are Mrs. Karen Pence, Second Lady of the United States, to lead the US Presidential Delegation.

As an educator and award-winning artist, Mrs. Pence is dedicated to raising awareness about art therapy and the needs of military service members and their families. Her work in these areas is underpinned by her 25 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and by being the mother of three adult children, including one in the United States Marine Corps.

In the delegation, she will be joined by: The Honorable Linda McMahon, the 25th Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). McMahon is the co-founder and former chief executive officer of WWE.

Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, MD, MPH, the 20th Surgeon General of the United States. Previously as the Health Commissioner of Indiana, he was at the forefront of fighting Ebola and Zika in his state and the largest drug-related outbreak of HIV in the United States.

Mr. Mariano Rivera is the Co-Chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition. As a former Major League Baseball player, he won five World Series titles with the New York Yankees.

Mr. Steven Bondy is the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the United States Embassy Abu Dhabi. His distinguished career in the US Foreign Service garnered him State Department Superior Honor Awards and the Department of Defense Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award.
