Practice Inclusion During Down Syndrome Month and All Year Long

Ahead of the Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games 2020, a few lucky athletes from Romania embarked on the journey of a lifetime. They became the stars of Down the Road. Aventura, an adventure reality TV programme hosted by well-known Romanian TV personality Mircea Radu.

Ratna Mohd Zain’s daughter Nadhrah is a swimmer with Special Olympics Singapore. Ratna believes parents need to play their part to work in tandem with coaches to bring out the best in their children.

Coach, Unified partner and guide Daniel Grieb reflects on his training journey with Chris Nikic, Special Olympics Florida, and his quest to be the first athlete with Down syndrome on record to complete a full Ironman distance race (140.6 miles).

Chris Nikic, a Special Olympics Florida athlete who has Down syndrome, competes in golf, swimming, track, basketball and triathlons.

Inclusion is on full display in the new film Full Out 2 – You Got This! to be released digitally on Monday, 23 March 2020 for purchase and rental. The movie, based on a true story, chronicles the University of Oklahoma Women’s Gymnastics team as they try to recapture a national championship without their star athlete.

Cole is an athlete and co-stars in the hit television series “Stumptown” on ABC.

On 22 October, Autism Speaks, Best Buddies and Special Olympics, in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation, announced the launch of Delivering Jobs, an inclusion campaign designed to create pathways to one million employment and leadership opportunities for people with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental differences by 2025.

Cole Sibus is putting his teamwork and endurance skills to good use as one of the stars on the new, ABC hit television show, Stumptown.
