Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Belgian team was forced to cancel the in-person competition, but that didn’t stop their athletes from finding a way to compete!

Special Olympics Italy hosted a Unified with Refugees football match in Turin for EBW 2020. At the match, there also were Special Olympics Unified Partner, Gerald Mballe, and ex-Juventus football star, David Trezeguet.

Special Olympics athletes and others living in group facilities are at heightened risk of contracting COVID-19. The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) Council of Rhode Island found a creative way to support this vulnerable population.
