Special Olympics World Games Santiago 2027
Significant progress has been made in preparation for the upcoming Special Olympics World Games Santiago 2027.
Delegations from Special Olympics International and Olimpiadas Especiales came together with athletes from Olimpiadas Especiales Chile and the Local Organizing Committee, with Chile’s Minister of Sports, Natalia Duco, worked intensively in Santiago for three consecutive days to advance preparations for one of the largest sporting events on the planet and the most important in terms of inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which will celebrate its 17th edition.
The agenda included meetings across all departments, a tour of the National Stadium Park, the main venue for Santiago 2027, and a visit to La Moneda Palace, where Chilean President José Antonio Kast, received representatives of the Games, which will take place in October of next year.
