Through the mural, they hope to reach members of their school and surrounding communities while spreading a simple, but important message: Be Kind! Ella and Beth believe that adding a mural to the school courtyard will engage and encourage more students with and without intellectual disabilities to interact and spread messages about kindness and inclusion.

Over the course of six months, Ella and Beth will lead interactive activities for students with and without intellectual disabilities to promote community awareness about their kindness project. These activities include painting, assembling, and installing mural replicas as yard signs intheir community, handcrafting mosaic tiles to create the mural, and installing the mural on campus. Their project will culminate with a grand reveal event showcasing the kindness mural to their classmates and community. Ella and Beth hope their kindness mural creates a safe, welcoming space and encourages people to make new friends while increasing kindness and inclusion within their school community. Ella and Beth want to leave a lasting impact that inspires the Unified Generation to spread messages of kindness and create a culture of inclusion.
