Marbelly and Sergio are siblings and Special Olympics Youth Leaders who are leading a Youth Innovation Project aimed at engaging new sibling pairs and youth with and without intellectual disabilities to be a part of the Unified Generation in their schools, jobs, and communities through sports and friendship.

Through this project, Marbelly and Sergio will partner with educational centers and community allies to increase awareness for the benefits of inclusion in their community. Marbelly and Sergio will host sports events and leadership trainings to gather support and interest in the movement and culminate their efforts with a celebratory awareness campaign.

Over the course of 9 months, Marbelly and Sergio hope to engage 3 new Unified Schools. After their project, Marbelly and Sergio want to plan a national workshop to continue to expand their new network in Nicaragua. By thinking big and including their whole community, Marbelly and Sergio are inspiring the Unified Generation to work together.
