Anni is a Special Olympics Youth Leader in Finland whose Youth Innovation project will work with youth with intellectual disabilities in Jyväskylä, Finland.
Anni plans to partner with a local track and field club and recruit students from two local schools in order to increase local participation in Special Olympics athletics (track and field) training in Jyväskylä.

The goal of Anni’s project is to increase inclusion, especially in track sports. She has noted how despite the large participation in Special Olympics Track and Field in other parts of Finland, there are not many participants in Jyväskylä. Anni is excited to bring more opportunities for Special Olympics athletes in the Jyväskylä region of Finland and to lead a project that offers “positive experiences for youth both with and without intellectual disability.” Through this project, Anni feels that she is contributed meaningfully in the fight against injustice and discrimination in her world. Through the Unified Generation, she is “glad that I have an opportunity not just to talk about what we should do, but really make changes.”
