Through their involvement in Special Olympics, Thi Thanh Huyen and Dong Nghi recognized a need for equality and wanted to combat the way people with intellectual disabilities are often ostracized from society by supporting them in using their voices to speak out.   

Over 6 months, Thi Thanh Huyen and Dong Nghi will bring youth with and without intellectual disabilities together to build friendships and create a step-by-step plan of how to develop presentation skills. They will conduct trainings, prepare presentation materials, and even organize mini online events for youth to practice their presentations in front of an audience filled with parents, peers, and volunteers. With their project, Thi Thanh Huyen and Dong Nghi want to provide youth with intellectual disabilities the tools to share their opinions and knowledge confidently, turning them into advocates and Youth Leaders in the process. This project will promote and provide an example of inclusive and quality education for all, and in doing so, increase awareness and understanding for people with intellectual disabilities throughout Vietnam.
