Gaelle and Juliana are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Mauritius who will lead a Youth Innovation Project that will partner Special Olympics with the Mauritius Scouts Association to encourage their personal development to take a constructive and self-reliant place in society.
Gaelle and Juliana will lead 50 Special Olympics participants and 100 Mauritius Scouts in activities that raise awareness about the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities and ways to make communities more accessible. Gaelle and Juliana believe uniting Scouts and Special Olympics Unified will provide participants the skills needed to develop as leaders. The partnership will also provide participants with a new and expansive network of Youth Leaders and friends. Gaelle and Juliana hope their project will inspire a greater understanding between the two organizations as they work to bring inclusive programming to communities throughout Mauritius.
