About The Project Leaders

Angeline "Jenna" is a 16-year-old athlete. Jenna believes joining Special Olympics has been a great experience and provided her with many opportunities she otherwise would not have had. She feels that she has found a family in her Special Olympics community. Jenna is a proud athlete for Special Olympics Namibia and has represented them in the sport of women’s football at the Special Olympics Unified Cup Detroit in 2022. Jenna played with the celebrity team in the USA and scored a goal which made her feel like a celebrity, too! Jenna is proud to be an Athlete Leader and to represent Namibia.

Kristofina "Benji" is a 17-year-old football lover from Namibia who plays for V-Powers Angels Football Club and in the Under 20s National Team. Benji considers herself to be a quiet person, very observant and good listener, but so vocal when vital discussions arise, especially on topics she is passionate about. Benji has a passion for football just like Jenna and this motivated her to get involved with Unified sports in Special Olympics Namibia. She is proud to work alongside so many amazing Athlete Leaders who mirror her values and love for the sport.

The Inspiration

Jenna and Benji want to address the lack of family and sibling involvement in the Special Olympics Namibia program through catering to this demographic within their community with targeted events.

The Plan

Jenna and Benji will conduct Sibling and family workshop in Khomas, Windhoek, and Erongo regions. They will also host a Unified football sporting event for siblings, athletes and their Unified partners, in the hopes of engage Youth Leaders from different schools through advocacy and an awareness campaign.

Project Goals

Over the course of their project, Jenna and Benji hope to increase the number of siblings and families involved in the Special Olympics Namibia program, specifically in two sub-programs: Khomas and Erongo. Additionally, they aim to establish one new Unified school by their project’s close.
