With their project, “Fashioning Art for an Inclusive Future,” Fatou Dame and Momy hope to creatively engage and educate participants about inclusion through fashion design activities that promote social inclusion. Fatou Dame and Momy’s interactive art project will provide participants with the opportunity to learn about new skills and showcase their creative abilities by assembling fashions they can sell in communities across Senegal.

Over six months, Fatou Dame and Momy will support approximately 20 young people with creating apparel. They will provide participants with drawing, cutting, sewing, and embroidery training. This training will support with the design and development of fashions that can be shared with local employers to highlight the skills and abilities of young people. Fatou Dame and Momy hope to empower participants to develop their design skills and promote the talent of Special Olympics athletes to employers in businesses throughout Senegal.
