Luis and Mario will recruit healthcare professionals and Special Olympics Youth Leaders to support their project and teach safe health and hygiene practices to individuals with and without intellectual disabilities, their families and caregivers, and community members. Luis and Mario will empower others to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other pathogens in their communities while demonstrating the power of inclusion.

Over nine months, Luis and Mario will collaborate with Special Olympics Youth Leaders with and without intellectual disabilities, healthcare professionals, media specialists, and community leaders to design and implement their multipart health and safety project. Luis and Mario will create multimedia campaigns including social networks, radio, and television to increase awareness and promote their interactive health safety workshops and events in their community. Led by Luis and Mario, the team will host workshops that provide Special Olympics athletes, Youth Leaders, families, and community members with information on personal health and hygiene. . Luis and Mario hope that by helping to keep their community safe and healthy, 200 new Youth Leaders will join them and empower the Unified Generation to maintain fit, healthy, responsible lifestyles while demonstrating the power of inclusion to their community.
