Jennifer is a 22-year-old Youth Leader from Austria. She has been involved with Special Olympics Austria for 2 years, participating in swimming, floorball, bowling, and inclusive school projects. Jenni is very inspiring to young people as she is a very dedicated Special Olympics athlete and empowering Youth Leader.
Jennifer noticed that although there are local floorball school teams who train regularly, there is not a floorball tournament in the region. Her project will address this issue by organizing and promoting a national Special Olympics Unified Floorball tournament!
Jennifer plans for the event to take place in the autumn, in the lead up to the event she will meet coordinate with local schools to participate in the tournament and promote the event to students with and without Intellectual disabilities. After the event, she will create a video to share with the Special Olympics community.
Jennifer hopes that organizing this first Unified Floorball Tournament will establish the event as an annual tournament and inspire athletes, coaches, and the community to get involved with Special Olympics. She plans to expand the programming of 5 Unified Schools and engage youth with and without Intellectual disabilities to promote inclusion through Unified Sports.
