Yee Ling and Lam Shing Yiu are friends and Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Hong Kong leading a project to create a “buddy club” to bring students with and without intellectual disabilities together in their school.
Yee Ling and Lam Shing Yiu plan to grow their buddy club by having senior students organize and participate in sport and non-sport activities with junior students. Through this project, they hope to create a community of social inclusion within their school. They expect their project to teach students about the concept of the Unified Generation, foster long-lasting friendships among students with and without intellectual disabilities, and build a team of Special Olympics Youth Leaders.
Yee Ling and Lam Shing Yiu are excited to work together as part of the Unified Generation. To them, the Unified Generation means youth with and without intellectual disabilities working together to build an inclusive society. As leaders of the Unified Generation, Yee Ling and Shing Yiu are creating inclusion in Hong Kong and inspiring inclusion around the world.
