Through this, they will create opportunities for youth with and without intellectual disabilities to participate in Unified Sports programs and promote social inclusion within their schools and communities. Through the power of inclusive sports opportunities, Hasan and Amna’s project will increase awareness of individuals with intellectual disabilities and highlight the importance of inclusion throughout their communities.

Over six months, Hasan and Amna will lead a team of Special Olympics Youth Leaders, Special Olympics coaches, and volunteers to support the growth and expansion of Special Olympics Unified programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hasan and Amna’s Unified Sports program will empower individuals with and without intellectual disabilities to connect through the power of sports and encourage personal development, on and off the field. Hasan and Amna hope to recruit new Special Olympics Youth Leaders to join the Unified Generation as they create new inclusive sports opportunities in communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
