Orgen is an 18 year-old from Tirana, Albania. Orgen has been involved with Special Olympics for over a year now. He first became involved through a previous Youth Leader’s project and became inspired to take on his own. Orgen is proud to be a Youth Leader as he likes to share inclusive ideas and to participate in Unified Sports. Orgen believes that the message of inclusion is easy to spread through sport, and hopes to do so effectively through his project.
In Orgen’s high school, there is no Unified Club. He hopes to change this through his project and also to address the lack of opportunities and information out in his community about inclusion.
Orgen’s project will entail a meet and greet with school staff and students, the dissemination of an information package and guidance on Unified Sports , training information and opportunities, and a final event, the Youth Inclusion Cup, a Unified Sports competition.
Through his project, Orgen hopes that a number of young people with and without ID will organize and participate in Unified Sporting events, and that schools will expand their Unified Sports Programming and clubs.
