Lukas and Amadej are Special Olympics Youth Leaders in Slovenia who will lead a Youth Innovation Project to establish a new Unified School and expand Unified Sports programs in Slovenia.
Over nine months, Lukas and Amadej will lead a team of Special Olympics Youth Leaders, educators, and Special Olympics coaches and volunteers to establish a new Unified School and support the growth and expansion of Unified Sports programs in Slovenia. Lukas and Amadej will introduce Unified jujitsu and capoeira programs and expand Unified swimming and ice-skating opportunities. Lukas and Amadej’s project will empower individuals with and without intellectual disabilities to connect through a variety of sports opportunities. By promoting social inclusion through year-round Unified Sports opportunities, Lukas and Amadej hope to recruit new Special Olympics Youth Leaders to join the Unified Generation as they create new inclusive sports and expand current programming already available in Slovenia.
