Together. In Hou and Chi Kin will use art as a platform for unity. In Hou and Chi Kin believe that shared activities between those with and without intellectual disabilities are a powerful tool for inclusion.

Over the course of three months, In Hou and Chi Kin will plan their two-part project. First, In Hou and Chi Kin will recruit volunteer Youth Leaders from local Macau schools to help plan and engage with the project, known as “Inclusive Art with a Smile.” The Youth Leaders will host handmade artwork and dancing workshops six to eight times per month, preparing for the capstone of the project: the Inclusive Art Carnival. In Hou and Chi Kin’s vision for the Inclusive Art Carnival includes dances performed by youth with and without intellectual disabilities, carnival games worked by Unified pairs, and booths selling the artwork created during the art workshops leading up to the carnival. In Hou and Chi Kin believe these performances and art exhibitions will build confidence for those in their community with intellectual disabilities and strengthen Unified bonds between those with and without intellectual disabilities, growing the Unified Generation.
