Septia and Dina are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Indonesia who participated in the 2019 Global Youth Leadership Summit.
Over the course of a year, Septia and Dina will use their Youth Innovation Grant to fund trainings and outdoor activities for 70 youth with and without intellectual disabilities. The 70 Youth Leaders will play an active role in the planning, budgeting, and preparation of two camping parties. Septia and Dina believe that all the people participating in the trip should have a voice in the planning process. This planning approach will strengthen the bonds between participants with and without intellectual disabilities and empower the participants to create a trip that is inclusive for all. In addition to the camping trips, Septia and Dina will host a one-day event focused on inclusion with video and photo challenges. Both the camping trips and the one-day event will promote inclusion and unification, which Septia and Dina will use to create new Unified Schools in Indonesia. Septia and Dina are taking innovative, nature-based ideas, and using them to promote and grow the Unified Generation.
