About The Project Leaders
Efrain is a 21-year-old from Carolina, Puerto Rico. He studies at Antilles College of Health. Within his work with Special Olympics, Efrain serves as an athlete leader and a health messenger. He has been part of the Unified Soccer team and had the opportunity to represent Puerto Rico in the Second Central American and Caribbean Special Olympics Unified Soccer Tournament held in Guatemala in 2018. Efrain also participated in the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019. Efrain is a part of the Unified Generation because he is a living example of that. Being part of the Unified Generation has helped Efrain to carry the message of acceptance and inclusion to everyone.
Diego is a 21-year-old from Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Pedagogy focused on early childhood education at the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamon. Diego currently participates with Special Olympics Puerto Rico on a Unified basketball team. He has had experience working with Special Olympics as a volunteer, spent time as an assistant coach of a basketball team, and worked in training centers of Unified Champion schools. Diego is a part of the Unified Generation because he wants to help all kinds of people to overcome any obstacles they face and reach their full potential. Diego believes everyone deserves to experience happiness and fulfillment.
