Atisha and Ravita are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Mauritius who participated in the 2019 Global Youth Leadership Summit.
Over the course of six months, Atisha and Ravita will hold four information communication technology training sessions, engaging more than 75 youth with and without intellectual disabilities. The training sessions will cover the basics of how computers work, what computers can do, and how technology can help Youth Leaders to gain independence and become advocates in their communities. Atisha and Ravita plan to use a peer-teaching model to minimize social isolation and maximize individual contributions during the training sessions. Atisha and Ravita will promote their project through social media and hope to spread their message of inclusive learning to thousands. By training Youth Leaders in technology and life skills, Atisha and Ravita are empowering the Unified Generation by equipping them with the skills they need to become champions for inclusion in the digital world.
