Through this project, Samir will create unconventional sports equipment to be used in sports by youth with and without intellectual disabilities. Samir will plan competitions for athletes in Mozambique to facilitate friendships through a passion of sports.

Over the course of nine months, Samir hopes to engage 50 youth through Unified Sports competitions. Samir was inspired to create this project after noticing that athletes with intellectual disabilities were often excluded from sporting competitions and recreation. By creating a space for athletes to make new friendships and share passions, Samir is empowering the Unified Generation.
