After attending the 2020 Special Olympics Latin America Regional Youth Leadership Summit, Wendy and Samuel decided to lead a Youth Innovation Project aimed at facilitating discussion sessions for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Through this project, Wendy and Samuel will organize 6 sessions where various field professionals will be asked to speak and share knowledge on topics of interest in the group.

Over the course of 9 months, Wendy and Samuel hope to engage 60 new Youth Leaders and to share their sessions on social media platforms with over 1,000 people. Wendy and Samuel say that the goal of their sessions is for new Youth Leaders to be able to share opinions and engage in dialogue confidently with a new network of friends. By creating a space for inclusion and learning, Wendy and Samuel are empowering the Unified Generation to create networks to talk about topics affecting the community of people with disabilities and their friends.
