As caring and informed members of their community, Amanjot and Poma noticed the fact that waste materials are building up around them, so in this project, they want to get youth with and without intellectual disabilities working together to collect waste and clean the environment. Amanjot and Poma hope that, since their work will be highly appreciated by the community, this will improve feelings of self-confidence in the participants and inspire them to become future mentors who continue the project for years to come.

Over nine months, Amanjot and Poma will recruit 10 new Youth Leaders as well as 75 other youth to practice SDG #11, which calls for safe and sustainable cities, through waste collection and recycling. They plan to contribute to SDG #8 as well, which promotes economic growth, by supporting athletes in skill development that can be applied to future jobs. With so many unified partners engaged by this project, Amanjot and Poma believe the project can become self-sustaining and inspire other members of society to do their part, therein creating real social change and lasting environmental impact.
