Hyun Ji and Jun Hyung’s project will create new opportunities for individuals with and without intellectual disabilities to engage in sports skills and trainings. From these trainings, Hyun Ji and Jun Hyung hope participants can use the skills they learned to support development of personal skills for greater independence.

Over six months, Hyun Ji and Jun Hyung will lead a team of Special Olympics Youth Leaders through a variety of sports trainings. Participants will be exposed to different sports to determine which they are most interested in. The goal is for participants to continue competing in these sports activities through local Unified Sports programming. As an outcome of their project, Hyun Ji and Jun Hyung will provide participants with information about Special Olympics so they can educate others in their communities about the power of inclusion. By improving the sports skills of individuals with and without intellectual disabilities, and educating others on the importance of acceptance, Hyun Ji and Jun Hyung will create a more inclusive society in Korea.
