Lindani and Malvin are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Zimbabwe who will lead a Youth Innovation Project for young people with and without intellectual disabilities interested in staying active during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the course of 3 months, Lindani and Malvin are hoping that their work garners over 800 social media impressions. The two Youth Leaders are both advocates of the Unified Generation. They hope to contribute to the sustainable development of opportunities and programs that reduce inequalities that currently exist in Zimbabwe, and the rest of the world for individuals with intellectual disabilities. At the end of the project, Lindani and Malvin plan on distributing certificates to the participants as a piece of memorabilia to commemorate their accomplishment during this time. This project serves as a great example of how youth-led programming can provide innovative ways to address the need the maintenance of social health during an otherwise stressful time. Lindani and Malvin are influencing the Unified Generation one game at a time.
