Inspired by her brother, Olivia will lead a Youth Innovation Project to implement a new Unified Sport, alpine skiing, in the Chilean Andes Mountains and promote accessibility within the ski community. Olivia will recruit new Special Olympics Youth Leaders and Special Olympics coaches, partners, and volunteers to implement her Unified alpine ski program. Olivia hopes to expand accessibility awareness to the ski community and create a safe, structured, and inclusive skiing experience for Chilean Special Olympics athletes.

Over six months, Olivia will plan, recruit, and train coaches, volunteers, and Special Olympics Youth Leaders as she prepares to launch the inaugural Unified alpine ski program in the Chilean Andes Mountains. Olivia will work with volunteers to form an alpine ski team to train Special Olympics athletes, improve their technique, and practice during the eight-week season. Olivia hopes her initiative will expand a culture of inclusion to the Chilean mountains that will provide people with and without intellectual disabilities access to a new sports opportunity. As a member of the Unified Generation, Olivia believes the joy and enthusiasm spectators will witness on the slopes will inspire kindness and spread inclusion throughout Chile.
