Daniela and Carmen will create a safe space to engage youth in activities that teach about environmental sustainability and inclusion. Daniela and Carmen will host fun and dynamic events that partner youth with and without intellectual disabilities to teach about environmental responsibility. Daniela and Carmen hope their project will increase environmental conservation awareness to sustain a lasting culture of inclusion in Venezuela to unite the Unified Generation and preserve our planet for future generations.

Over six months, Daniela and Carmen will lead their team of 40 Special Olympics Youth Leaders to plan and implement virtual and hands-on activities that promote environmental conservation. Daniela and Carmen hope youth with and without intellectual disabilities will learn the importance of reducing, reuse, and recycle during their nature-themed events. Daniela and Carmen’s project will connect youth from around Venezuela to engage in impactful and fun activities that will preserve the beauty and sustainability of their community. Through their project, Daniela and Carmen hope to recruit 40 new Special Olympics Youth Leaders to join the Unified Generation to spread messages of inclusion across Venezuela while helping save the planet.
