Unified Sports
Antonella and Paola are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Ecuador who have been positively influenced both as athletes and as people by their involvement in Special Olympics.
Over a period of nine months, Antonella and Paola will organize two mini-championship games in mainstream education schools and invite two special education schools to participate in the event. Through their project, Antonella and Paola want to allow more youth to get involved in soccer and basketball, as well as create Unified teams between the participating schools. Over time, Antonella and Paola hope to increase the number of schools involved and get as many students engaged as possible so they can derive the same benefits from Special Olympics that they have, like self-confidence and believing in themselves. Antonella and Paola want to spread the spirit of the Unified Generation through this project, since they know it has the power to change lives.
