Unified Schools
Julia and Eden are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from North Carolina who will lead a Youth Innovation Project by partnering with a mentor school from a different region of North Carolina to support with transition into a Special Olympics Unified Champion School.
Julia and Eden will lead a team of 20 Special Olympics Youth Leaders with and without intellectual disabilities to plan, promote, and implement a series events over nine months. Through their planning, they will host a Unified Sports event that will engage over 200 youth with and without intellectual disabilities. Julia and Eden believe that by partnering with a mentor school outside of their local area, they will expand Unified programming across North Carolina and spread inclusion across their school and into the community. Julia and Eden hope to create over 100 new Youth Leaders and become a new Unified Champion School, further growing and strengthening the Unified Generation.
