Unified Schools
Yanbing is a Special Olympics Youth Leader from China who participated in the 2019 Global Youth Leadership Summit.
Yanbing will lead a Youth Innovation Project aiming to make her school the first Unified School within the Unified World Colleges system. Unified World Colleges is a global education movement that spans four continents. Yanbing attends one of the 18 Unified World Colleges and hopes that her project will inspire others in the global network of schools.
Over the course of the next year, Yanbing will sustainably establish her school as a Unified School, engaging more than 60 youth with and without intellectual disabilities in the process. To generate support, Yanbing will pair her school with a local special education school to organize sports events that highlight the power of play and the importance of inclusion. Yanbing will share her progress through social media with the goal to make over 1,000 impressions. Yanbing sees a similarity between the values of Special Olympics and Unified World Colleges, and strives to solidify this connection to grow the Unified Generation.
