Illitay and Perizat are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from the Kyrgyz Republic who [JB1] will lead a Youth Innovation Project to expand Unified Sports programming in Unified Schools and increase opportunities for individuals with and without intellectual disabilities to connect outside of school.
Illiyat and Perizat’s project will provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed foster a culture of inclusion throughout their country.
Over nine months, Illitay and Perizat will lead a team of Special Olympics Youth Leaders, educators, Special Olympics coaches and community volunteers to support the growth and expansion of Special Olympics Unified Sports programs in the Kyrgyz Republic. Through their project, they will engage over 120 youth with and without intellectual disabilities through Unified Sports activities. Illitay and Perizat hope to implement ten new Unified Sports programs into schools throughout the Kyrgyz Republic and recruit new Special Olympics Youth Leaders to join the Unified Generation.
