Njegos and Andjela are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Bosnia and Herzegovina who are launching a campaign to promote full inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities within schools and communities in their home country.
Through their campaign, Njegos and Andjela plan to organize roundtable discussions with schools, sports clubs, and communities to raise awareness of Unified Sports and the benefits of inclusion. In addition to this, Njegos and Andjela will engage with current Special Olympics volunteers and potential youth leaders through workshops on inclusion in their communities. As a result, Njegos and Andjela will have be growing the movement to establish Unified Schools and Unified Sports.
Over the coming months, Njegos and Andjela plan to meet with schools, sports clubs and local governments to build further momentum in establishing Unified Schools and Unified Sports. They also plan to host workshops with local students so that they can learn more about the important role that youth have in creating a more inclusive world. By promoting awareness and action in schools, sports clubs, the local government and communities, Njegos and Andjela’s leadership will help grow the Unified Generation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.
