Saša and Marko will lead a Youth Innovation Project that teaches individuals with and without intellectual disabilities about using technology and the mobile application “Inkluzivnisport,” developed and launched by Special Olympics Montenegro. Saša and Marko will introduce the app and their Unified Sports programming to schools across Montenegro to provide opportunities for inclusive collaboration. Schools will be able to implement virtual fitness and healthy lifestyle activities that encourage and guide athletes and partners to stay healthy and fit at home. By extending Unified Sports programming to virtual platforms, Saša and Marko’s project will ensure individuals with and without intellectual disabilities stay fit and connected while continuing to promote a culture of inclusion in their communities.

Over nine months, Saša and Marko will lead a team of Special Olympics Youth Leaders and educators to implement their project using technology and software to increase Unified Sports programming accessibility for athletes and partners. Saša and Marko’s project will create connections between students with and without intellectual disabilities by developing adaptable and inclusive activities that unite participants through virtual interactions. Saša and Marko will create videos, host software training workshops, and develop and implement accessible, inclusive health and fitness activities that integrate technology and fitness. Their project will foster friendships and connections to strengthen the culture of inclusion and healthy lifestyles in schools across Montenegro. Saša and Marko believe that connecting students through a common platform will expand Unified Sports reach and ability to encourage and inspire its participants. Saša and Marko will increase opportunities for the Unified Generation to bridge the gap between students with and without intellectual disabilities through the use of technology in communities across Montenegro.
